The Mortgage Company is a mortgage and protection brokerage working alongside our sister business, the area’s leading estate agent. We place a Mortgage and Protection Adviser within one of their branches to support customers directly with tailored mortgage and protection advice.

Our advisers benefit from full administration and paraplanning support, minimising paperwork so they can focus on clients. All fact‑finds, suitability letters, lender chasing, and client follow‑ups are handled by our dedicated support team, ensuring advisers spend more time delivering great service and less time on admin.

The role
As a Mortgage & Protection Adviser, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Conducting fact-finding interviews to understand clients’ financial circumstances, goals, and risk appetite
  • Delivering tailored mortgage and protection advice in clear, accessible language
  • Recommending suitable products including residential, buy-to-let, remortgage options, and protection solutions such as life cover, income protection, and critical illness insurance
  • You will work on your own initiative with full help and support as and when required
  • This is an office based position

Who we’re looking for
We’re seeking a confident, qualified adviser who:

  • Has at least 2 years’ experience advising on both mortgages and protection
  • Holds a CeMAP qualification
  • Ideally brings an existing book of business to help scale our operations / but not essential

The role
This exciting role offers a fantastic start for a future in mortgage advising. You'll be right at the heart of our client interactions, handling both inbound and outbound calls in our busy Helpline.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting our Account Managers with their daily tasks and client communications.
  • Directly engaging with clients, gathering essential information, and conducting initial financial assessments.
  • Providing clear overviews of available mortgage products.
  • Collaborating with national housebuilders, you'll proactively report on progress and keep the builders informed every step of the way.
  • Offering expert advice on a wide range of mortgage-related queries.

Who we’re looking for
To thrive in this role, you'll need to be keen to learn and have a strong work ethic. While a background in finance isn't necessary, as full training and support will be provided, you'll ideally have:

  • Outstanding customer service skills – you love helping people!
  • A confident and professional telephone manner.
  • Previous sales experience is a plus, but definitely not essential.

This role is a stepping stone to becoming a fully qualified Mortgage Advisor. You'll gain invaluable hands-on experience before starting your CeMAP qualification. Once qualified, you'll have access to multiple advisory roles within the business, supporting your continued growth and development.

Working hours

Our office is open seven days a week, and your working pattern will include:

  • Two weekends out of every four
  • Two days off during the week.

Working hours are:

  • Monday–Thursday: 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Friday: 10:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Weekends: 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM
